At the NISG we have two main community events which are held weekly, as well as a variety of annual events and one-off trips.

The Fáilte Club

Every Tuesday (since 1997!) our community meet at our base, Alliston Gardens Community Centre, between 10.30am – 1pm.

The Fáilte Club offers a friendly relaxing atmosphere for everyone to have a chat. From 11-12pm, you can join our weekly fitness class ran by trained instructor Nancy Morse for £2/session.

This is a good opportunity to come for a chat over tea and coffee, or seek assistance with any queries or problems. As technology related issues are the most common, you may bring your own computer (or phone).

At 12pm we serve up our healthy and delicious soup and sandwiches, freshly made by Jo, for £2, including tea and coffee!

A fantastic highlight of this club is our monthly meal. For £5 you will get a homemade two course meal with tea and coffee.

We love our weekly meet-up for The Fáilte Club. It’s always a great atmosphere and a good chance for us to get to know new clients and touch base with our regulars.

The Shamrock Club

Every Friday our community meet-up at Vernon Terrace Community Centre to start the weekend off with fun activities, food and music.

Join us for a game of bingo with Irish music (live!) and a lively atmosphere.

At the Shamrock Club we serve tea, coffee, bread and sweets.

The Shamrock Club have been on some brilliant trips in the past, including Shopping trips to Birmingham and a day at the seaside in Southwold.

This club is ran by a subcommittee – the chair, Philomena Doherty is there to support every week.

The Shamrock Club runs every Friday from 1-3.45pm.
