Welcome to the NISG Website

Here at the NISG, we are committed to supporting the Irish community of Northamptonshire. We provide information, advice and support to those in need. We can assist with a number of issues ranging from passport applications to pensions. Our core purpose is to support and benefit the local Irish community. Your needs will be dealt with by our considerate and friendly staff, in complete confidence. Each year, we deal with a variety of client cases, as well as organising regular social and cultural events.

At the heart of our group, is the wellbeing of our clients. We run two regular weekly social sessions, where our more elderly clients come to meet up over a cup of tea and catch up with friends. Activities range from fitness classes, to computer assistance. We have previously been on day trips to places such as Hunstanton, we like to keep things exciting here at the NISG!

We strive to positively promote Irish culture and heritage both within and outside the Irish community. We have strong links with business around the UK, who hold a shared interest in Irish culture. From St. Patrick’s Day celebrations to live music events, we love everything to do with Irish culture.

Our community is mainly funded by the Irish government, however we hold year-round fundraisers. The more money we can raise, the more events we can host. For example, we hold monthly meals where – for a small fee, we join together for a two course meal. These events are hugely popular, and the small fee paid per person funds the entire event.

For most of our clients, the NISG is a life-line, without which, many would be extremely isolated and vulnerable. Our outreach staff connect with clients who are house-bound, or recently widowed, who just need somebody to talk to. Even if it’s just a quick chat over a cup of tea, it can make a world of difference. We do our best to ensure that our clients feel that they are not alone.

Interested in joining our community? Feel free to get in touch. We’re a friendly bunch.ESP Logo (2) new logo for emigrant support
